Nevena Ackovska is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia. She currently teaches seven graduate and three postgraduate subjects, and her research spans bioinformatics and intelligent systems.
Education:
- B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Informatics and Automation, Electrical Engineering Faculty (2000)
- M.Sc. in Bioinformatics (2003)
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (2008)
- Studies continued at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA (1995 onward)
Research Interests:
- Bioinformatics: leveraging biological knowledge to inform computer science
- Intelligent Systems: modeling and developing both living and artificial beings
- Biological Knowledge in Informatics: bridging life sciences and computing
- Informatics Support for Biological Processes: computational tools for biology
