Dr. Nemanja Vaci is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sheffield's School of Psychology. He holds a PhD in Psychology, MSc in Applied Statistics, and BA in Psychology. His research focuses on skill development across the lifespan, expertise acquisition, and statistical modeling in healthcare and cognitive science.
Key research interests include aging and cognition, Bayesian modeling, natural language processing of clinical data, and leveraging large datasets from chess, sports, and electronic health records. His work bridges psychological theory with advanced statistical methods, addressing questions about cognitive decline in dementia, AI's impact on human expertise, and the role of social isolation in cognitive health.
Recent work includes studies on EEG biomarkers in autism, the effects of pandemics on sports performance, and personalized treatment models for dementia using AI.
