Nelly Blanchard

Nelly Blanchard is a University Professor of Breton Language and Literature at the University of Brest, where she conducts research through the Breton and Celtic Research Center (CRBC). Her scholarly work focuses on Breton language and literature across multiple centuries, with particular expertise in 19th-20th century literary production.

Her research interests span socioliterature, peasant literature, oral literature, and Breton language dialectology. Blanchard has made significant contributions to understanding the sociolinguistic landscape of Brittany, particularly examining how Breton language functions within rural communities and educational settings. Her work bridges literary analysis with sociolinguistic methodology, creating a comprehensive understanding of Breton cultural production.
