Nelbert St. Clair

Dr. Nelbert St. Clair serves as Associate Professor of Cyber Defense and Director of the Coastal Cyber Center at the College of Coastal Georgia. Since joining in Fall 2019, he has built the Cyber Defense program from the ground up, uniquely integrating academic training with community service through student-led IT security initiatives.

His academic credentials include:

• Bachelor of General Studies, University of Nevada, Reno

Dr. St. Clair's work centers on practical cybersecurity education, with research interests in Cyber Defense and community-based security solutions. He leverages the Coastal Cyber Center to create real-world learning environments where students address local organizational needs.

With 23 years of retired military service (including deployments), 14 years in private sector IT, and 8 years in federal government roles, he brings extensive field experience. He maintains 15 active cyber certifications and emphasizes student development through community engagement.

The Coastal Cyber Center operates as a non-profit entity that connects student teams with local organizations, providing cybersecurity services while developing workforce-ready professionals.
