معرفی
Dr. Nejdet DEĞERMENCİ is an Associate Professor at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Environmental Engineering, where he has served since 2014. He became Department Head in 2017 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. Previously, he worked as an expert at Atatürk University (2009–2014). His academic credentials include a PhD in Environmental Sciences (Atatürk University, 2014), an MSc in Environmental Technology (2007), and a BSc in Environmental Engineering (2004).
Research Focus: Dr. Değermenci specializes in water pollution control, treatment plant design, and environmental chemistry. His work emphasizes advanced oxidation processes (e.g., Fenton, ozonation), membrane bioreactors, and adsorption techniques for removing contaminants like dyes, phenols, and pesticides from wastewater. Recent projects explore catalytic degradation, nutrient recovery, and sustainable water reuse.
Publications: His 35+ publications demonstrate consistent focus on wastewater treatment innovation, with recent articles highlighting electro-Fenton processes, jet loop reactor optimization, and machine learning applications in pollution modeling. Research frequently involves pilot-scale validations and multidisciplinary collaborations.
Students & Projects: He has advised 6 MSc students on topics spanning solar sludge drying, photocatalytic dye removal, and herbicide treatment. As principal investigator or collaborator, he contributed to 14 research projects, including TÜBİTAK-funded initiatives on membrane bioreactors and BAP-supported studies on catalytic wastewater treatment.
Collaborations: Works extensively with researchers across Turkish institutions (e.g., Gökçe Didar Değermenci, Ergün Yıldız) on environmental technology development.
