Neil Walshe is an Associate Professor and Program Director at the University of San Francisco School of Management. He holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck College, University of London, an MSc from the Institute of Work Psychology at the University of Sheffield, and a BSc in Psychology from Queen's University Belfast.
His research focuses on ethics and morality in organizations, particularly examining courage and cowardice in high-risk occupations like ordnance disposal and air-traffic control. He emphasizes psychological mechanisms behind virtuous workplace behavior and evidence-based management practices. Key areas of expertise include qualitative data analysis, organizational ethics, and fear dynamics in professional environments.
Walshe has received multiple accolades including the 2018 Outstanding Research Award and 2014 Teaching Award from USF School of Management. His prior experience includes a visiting professorship at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. His publications span organizational psychology journals, addressing topics from methodological resilience to compassion in uncertain contexts.
