Neil Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Aberystwyth University. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from University College of Wales, Aberystwyth (1994). His career includes extensive work with the commercial sector in Wales, particularly through the Centre for Advanced Software and Intelligent Systems (CASIS), where he developed custom hardware systems, desktop applications, and database-driven web solutions. He has taught academic and commercial courses in Aberystwyth and Singapore, including programming for iPhones through Software Alliance Wales (SAW). Taylor co-founded a spin-out software company and remains active in professional organizations like BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.
His research focuses on complex system analysis, failure scenarios, and software reliability. He has published influential work in Reliability Engineering and System Safety, with notable citations in failure analysis methodologies.
