Neil Blough

Neil Blough is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Maryland. He holds adjunct faculty positions at Michigan Technological University, the University of Maine, and the University of North Carolina. His research focuses on environmental photochemistry and optics, particularly the structural and optical properties of chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) in aquatic systems. Blough has led numerous oceanographic cruises and contributed to advancements in molecular probe development and remote sensing applications. He has received significant recognition, including the US EPA Level III Award (2008) and the ACS Excellence in Review Award (2010).
