Nehal Abu-Lail

Nehal Abu-Lail, Ph.D. is a tenured Professor and Chair of the Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering departments at the Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University’s Center for Biologically Inspired Materials and Material Systems.

Dr. Abu-Lail has received prestigious accolades including Fellowships from the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), as well as recognition as a Fulbright Scholar and a participant in the National Academy of Engineering’s Frontiers of Engineering Education (FOEE) program.
