Neena Sharma

Neena Sharma, Ph.D., PT, CMPT, is an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center's School of Health Professions, affiliated with the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training. She directs the Clinical Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Research (CORR) Laboratory and focuses on understanding chronic pain mechanisms and evaluating physical therapy interventions.

• Education: Bachelor's from University of Jodhpur, India; Master's in Physical Therapy from KU (2000); Doctorate in Rehabilitation Science from KU (2008).

Her research explores biochemical and neural mechanisms underlying chronic pain, particularly fibromyalgia and low back pain, with an emphasis on central sensitization and the effects of exercise training and manual therapy on the central nervous system. She teaches orthopedic physical therapy courses and provides clinical consultation in musculoskeletal and chronic pain conditions.
