Neda Nasheri

Dr. Neda Nasheri is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Ottawa. She serves as a Research Scientist at Health Canada, leading the Food Virology Reference/Research Centre. Her work bridges academic research and public health policy through virology and food safety.

She also investigates cross-disciplinary risks like fecal-oral transmission of respiratory viruses.

Selected Scientific Awards include the NSERC Visiting Fellow (2015-2018) and multiple cover articles in journals like ChemBioChem and Analytical Biochemistry.

Labs & Teams: Dr. Nasheri leads the Food Virology Reference/Research Centre at Health Canada, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address food safety challenges.
