Ned Wales is an Assistant Professor at Bond University's Faculty of Society & Design. He holds a PhD in urban planning policy from QUT and has extensive professional experience in urban design and environmental planning. Previously, he served in roles such as leading Gold Coast City Council's Urban Design unit and coordinating their Environmental Planning and Biodiversity Conservation Unit. He also served as a trustee of the Petaluma Health Care District and has consulted on major projects like the Mission Bay Master Plan and Tweed Shire Council's Tanglewood Feasibility Study.

He is a member of the Northern Regional Planning Panel (Tweed Shire Council) and has been involved in consultancy roles for infrastructure risk management and regional planning. His projects often emphasize feasibility studies and policy implementation.
Notable collaborations include the Solomon Island Capstone Project, where he contributed as a supervisor and mentor, and media engagements discussing urban design challenges and climate adaptation strategies.
