معرفی
Associate Professor Nazrul Islam is affiliated with the School of Clinical Sciences, Pharmacy Department at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His research focuses on pulmonary drug delivery systems, nanotechnology-driven drug formulations, and biodegradable polymer-based controlled-release micro/nanoparticles for respiratory applications. He holds editorial roles in journals like the International Journal of Biomacromolecules and has authored a book on lung-targeted drug delivery systems.
His key research grants include King Khalid University funding (2020), Indonesian Government support (2017/19), and multiple IHBI grants (Australia). Teaching expertise spans pharmaceutics, drug formulation, and respiratory drug delivery.
Recent work emphasizes inhalable antibiotic-loaded nanoparticles for combating antibiotic-resistant infections, with 2025 publications on biofilm-targeting therapies and ceftriaxone liposomal formulations. His 2024 studies highlight challenges in inhalable ciprofloxacin formulations and lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles for lung cancer treatment.
Supervision includes PhD topics like DPI formulation development and chitosan nanoparticle lung delivery. Grant review experience spans Hong Kong, Canada, and NHMRC programs.
