Nazmul Ahsan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, Saint Louis University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California and both M.S.S. and B.S.S. degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
His research focuses on development economics, global health, population economics, applied microeconomics, and impact evaluation, with regional expertise in South and Southeast Asia. He employs empirical methods to investigate human capital development, health economics, and labor market outcomes.
Dr. Ahsan has received several awards for his research contributions including the PAA Poster Session Winner (2016) and Best Paper Award from the Association for Economic and Development Studies on Bangladesh (2015). His publications appear in leading journals such as Economics & Human Biology, Southern Economic Journal, and PLoS One.
