Nazim Mahmudov

Prof. Dr. Nazim Mahmudov is a Professor and Department Head of Mathematics at Eastern Mediterranean University. He holds a PhD in Stochastic Systems from the Institute of Cybernetics, Azerbaijan. His research focuses on fractional calculus, stochastic processes, control theory, and approximation theory. He has authored over 200 publications in prestigious journals and supervised numerous PhD students.

Key research interests include fractional differential equations, controllability of stochastic systems, and applications of fractional calculus. Recent work involves analytical solutions for delayed fractional systems and stability analysis of stochastic evolution equations. Awards include multiple EMU Publication Citation Awards (2017-2021) and the EMU Research Incentive Award (2017).

He has advised over 30 PhD students, including notable scholars in fractional dynamics and stochastic systems. Current projects explore fractional impulsive systems and iterative learning control algorithms. His work bridges pure and applied mathematics, with applications in engineering and physics.
