Navid Mojtabai

Navid Mojtabai is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Mineral Engineering at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. His research focuses on Economic Analysis, Geostatistics, Mine Ventilation, Mine Systems, Applied Geomechanics, Environmental Issues, Rock Slope Stability, and Tunneling and Underground Excavation. He holds a PhD and serves as a key academic leader in mineral engineering education and research.

As Department Chair, he oversees curriculum development and academic programs within the Mineral Engineering discipline. His technical expertise spans both theoretical and applied aspects of mining engineering, with particular emphasis on geomechanics and environmental impacts of mining operations.
