Nathaniel Haering is a Studios Composition Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee's Music Department. His research focuses on integrating live electronics to enhance traditional instruments' expressive and timbral capabilities, influencing both electronic and purely acoustic works. He collaborates with acclaimed ensembles like Trio Accanto, Mivos Quartet, and the International Contemporary Ensemble.
