Nathaniel B. Jones is an Associate Professor of Art History and Archaeology and Director of Graduate Studies at Washington University. His work focuses on Greco-Roman art's intersections with social practice, theory, and aesthetics. He holds a PhD from Yale University (History of Art) and a BA from Grinnell College (Classics and Art History).
Research emphasizes meta-pictorial reflections in Roman art, spatial-temporal dynamics, and art collection practices. Supported by institutions like the National Gallery of Art and the Institute for Advanced Study, his scholarship bridges ancient artistic practices with modern theoretical frameworks.
