Nathan Sawyer

Nathan Sawyer serves as Special Faculty and Facilities Director at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Architecture, where he oversees architectural facilities while maintaining an active teaching role in building technology and digital design workflows.

His research and pedagogical focus centers on practical applications of building science and computational design tools:

• Building physics principles and performance simulation methodologies
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) implementation through Revit workflows
• Integration of technical knowledge into architectural design studios
• Architectural technology systems for sustainable building design

As Facilities Director, he manages the school's physical resources and technical infrastructure critical for design education. His teaching directly supports the Architectural Technology minor curriculum through hands-on instruction in industry-standard evaluation tools and documentation practices.
