Nathan Magee is Professor and Chair of Physics at The College of New Jersey's School of Science. Specializing in atmospheric physics and meteorology, his research focuses on cloud microphysics, ice crystal formation, and climate impacts. He earned his PhD from Pennsylvania State University and BA from Carleton College.
His research utilizes balloon-borne measurement systems like ICE-Ball to study cirrus cloud microphysics and urban heat islands. Recent NSF and NOAA grants support his work on cloud-scale modeling and K-8 climate education. Awards include the Distinguished Teacher-Scholar award.
Research areas include:
- Cloud ice crystal growth mechanisms
- Urban heat island dynamics
- Climate change education
- Atmospheric remote sensing
