Nathan Laxague is an Assistant Professor in the Ocean Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments at the University of New Hampshire. He earned his Ph.D. (2016) and B.S. (2011) from the University of Miami and was a postdoctoral research scientist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. His work focuses on air-sea interactions, ocean surface waves, and environmental monitoring technologies.

Research interests span physical oceanography, fluid mechanics, and coastal engineering, with emphasis on leveraging engineering solutions to improve in-situ observational techniques. His publications highlight studies on ocean wave dynamics, plastic/oil transport, and Arctic climate impacts.
Scientific contributions include developing biodegradable drifters and analyzing rain-sea interactions. He teaches courses in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and ocean engineering.
