Nathan Laube is an Associate Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. He previously taught at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart (2020–2022) and held roles as International Consultant in Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (since 2018). His career spans performances at iconic venues worldwide, including the Vienna Konzerthaus, Berlin Philharmonie, and Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms). He specializes in organ design, having consulted on instruments like Göteborg Concert Hall and Field Hall (Curtis Institute).
Education: Curtis Institute of Music (Bachelor’s with Alan Morrison), Conservatoire Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse (Fulbright Fellowship with Michel Bouvard and Jan Willem Jansen), and Musikhochschule Stuttgart (Master’s under Ludger Lohmann via DAAD Grant).
Research interests include historical organs, performance aesthetics, and repertoire exploration. He launched the radio program All the Stops (WFMT) documenting renowned organs. Awards include the Nashville Symphony’s GRAMMY for the Stephen Paulus Grand Concerto (on which he performed).
Active in festivals (e.g., Berlin Orgelsommer, Göteborg International Organ Festival) and international competition juries (Gottfried Silbermann, Martini, Messiaen). Notable organ dedications include Canterbury Cathedral, Zaryadye Concert Hall (Moscow), and St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Vienna).
