Nathan King is a Professor of Philosophy at Whitworth University, where he has been a faculty member since 2010. His research focuses on epistemology, philosophy of religion, ethical theory, and the history of analytic philosophy. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame (2010), an M.A. from Biola University, and a B.A. from Seattle Pacific University.
King’s work bridges virtue epistemology with empirical psychology and explores topics like intellectual perseverance, religious skepticism, and the ethics of disagreement. He has been awarded the Junior Faculty Award (2013–14) and a $44,185 grant from The Character Project (2012–13) for research on virtue epistemology.
His teaching includes courses on philosophy of science (PH 421), reasons for faith (PH 244), and Western civilization (CO 350). His recent publications address fallacies in discourse, peer disagreement, and the role of virtues in intellectual life.
