Nathalie Lazaric

Nathalie Lazaric is a CNRS Research Director and Visiting Professor at the University of Gothenburg. She co-directs the GREDEG TERO team (Ecological Transition and Organizational Resilience) and leads the CNRS DVS network on 'Waste, Values and Societies'. Her work focuses on ecological transition, waste recycling, energy consumption, and organizational change. She collaborates across disciplines including geography, management, law, and marine biology. Lazaric has published over 55 articles in journals like Ecological Economics and Energy Policy, addressing topics such as circular economy frameworks, behavioral interventions for sustainability, and institutional governance of environmental policies. Her research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to ecological challenges and policy design for sustainable transitions.

Research Interests: Lazaric’s work bridges economic theory and practical policy, exploring themes like energy efficiency paradoxes, organizational routines in sustainability, and socio-economic barriers to circular economy adoption. She examines how collective learning and trust influence innovation adoption in energy systems and agricultural sectors. Her recent projects include studies on marine protected areas, behavioral nudges for waste sorting in the EU, and climate action mobilization through emotional engagement.

Collaborations: She leads the Waste, Values and Societies network, fostering interdisciplinary research on human and social sciences. Her involvement in European projects includes studies on energy consumption in urban areas and sustainable transitions in plastics recycling.
