Nate T. Gore serves as a Lecturer of Recreation & Outdoor Education and Environment & Sustainability at Western Colorado University, where he also holds the position of Undergraduate Director. He is affiliated with both the Recreation, Exercise & Sport Science Department and the Clark Family School of Environment & Sustainability.

Gore's research and teaching interests focus on transformative outdoor education experiences that prepare students for careers in environmental stewardship. His work bridges practical outdoor leadership skills with sustainability principles, particularly through field-based learning. He has special expertise in trail management, environmental monitoring, and international experiential education programs, notably his work developing the Peru Eco-Adventure course in the Andean region.
Gore has extensive professional experience including ten years in recreation-based parks and open space management, consulting work in the mining regulation industry, and leadership of approximately 500 days of trail and forestry projects with seasonal crews. As a certified snowboard instructor, he integrates his passion for outdoor recreation with educational programming.
