Professor Natasha Hamilton-Hart is a leading academic in the Department of Management and International Business at the University of Auckland Business School. Prior to this, she held positions at the National University of Singapore and the Australian National University. She earned her PhD from Cornell University (1999) and a BA (Hons) from the University of Otago (1990).

Her research spans political economy, international business, and Southeast Asian studies, with a focus on business-government relations, financial policy in East Asia, palm oil industry governance, and institutional change. Her recent work examines global value chains, pandemic responses, and climate policy in the Asia-Pacific.
Her publications address monetary policy, economic integration, corporate ownership shifts, and regulatory frameworks across Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific. She actively supervises postgraduate research in areas including business-government relations, financial regulation, and institutional dynamics.
As Director of the NZ Asia Institute, she contributes to regional policy discussions and public engagement through media commentary and educational initiatives.
