Natalie Strokes

Natalie Strokes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the UMass Chan Medical School’s Baystate Regional Campus. She holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from A.T. Still University, a Master of Science (MS) from Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Smith College.

Her research focuses on emergency medicine, medical education, and patient-physician communication. Key areas include clinical supervision in emergency departments, destigmatizing medical language, and shared decision-making interventions. She has also contributed to studies on cardiac arrest outcomes in resource-limited settings and anticoagulation strategies for pulmonary embolism.

Strokes’ earlier work explored molecular mechanisms in neuroscience, including G protein-coupled receptors and collagen interactions in neurodevelopment. Her interdisciplinary collaborations span clinical practice, global health, and basic science.
