Dr. Natalie Cope is a Lecturer in Clinical Education (Psychometrics) at the Keele University School of Medicine. She holds a BSc in Biology and Biochemistry from Keele University, a PhD in Developmental Dyslexia genetics from Cardiff University, and postdoctoral experience at Yale University's Department of Pediatrics. Her expertise spans psychometric analysis of medical education assessments, standard setting for examinations, and values-based medical student recruitment. She contributes to the Master's in Medical Education programme, focusing on assessment theory and design.
Her research interests include examiner calibration, numeracy skill evaluation in medical applicants, and student flight path analysis through medical training. She sits on the Faculty of Health Research Ethics Committee and collaborates on initiatives like the AD-Equiv project to enhance OSCE authenticity. Her work addresses challenges in distributed clinical assessments and virtual training methodologies, particularly post-pandemic healthcare education.
