Natalie Batmanian is a Lecturer at the College of Staten Island, specializing in behavioral science with expertise in language learning and broadening participation in STEM education. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Cognitive Psychology from Rutgers University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Hunter College, CUNY. Her work focuses on cognitive processes in language acquisition, cross-linguistic studies (e.g., Turkish syntax), and institutional programs to enhance educational equity.
Her research spans cognitive psychology, linguistics, and education, with notable contributions to understanding word order rules in free-word-order languages and developing university-wide mentoring initiatives. Batmanian has presented at conferences such as the Eastern Psychological Association and the University of New Mexico Mentoring Conference.
Teaching responsibilities include courses like Cognitive Psychology (PSY 288) and Experimental Psychology: Cognition and Perception (PSY 330). Office hours are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30–4:00 PM in Room 234 of Building 4S.
