Nat Skoczylas

Nat Skoczylas is an activist, artist, producer, and cook/fermenter affiliated with the Academy of Theatre and Dance (ATD) Lectorate at the University of Amsterdam. They are part of the THIRD research cohort, focusing on interdisciplinary artistic and community-based practices. Skoczylas holds a background in political science from studies in Poland and Iceland, and completed the Collective Practices program at the Royal Institute of Art. Their work emphasizes collective living, queer migrant community organizing, and horizontal stewardship of spaces like the Massia art residency in Estonia.

Research interests center on craft, resistance, and re-indigenisation through practices like beer brewing as a lens for ancestral connection, queer feminist community care, and ecological interdependence. Their project femAle explores pre-enclosure communal traditions and alchemical connections to land. Skoczylas is deeply involved in collective bodies such as the interdisciplinary group new visions, bridging artistic production with social justice and ecological regenerative practices.
