Naresh Thadhani is Professor and former Chair of Materials Science at Georgia Tech, with joint appointments in Mechanical Engineering. His research investigates shock-induced physical/chemical changes in materials and dynamic fracture behavior under extreme conditions.
Thadhani developed unique gas-gun and laser-driven impact laboratories with nanosecond diagnostics. He has advised over 30 PhD students, received NASA achievement awards, and served as Jefferson Science Fellow at the U.S. State Department.
