Nandini Sundar

Nandini Sundar is a Professor of Sociology at the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. Her work bridges constitutionalism, academic freedom, democracy, and agrarian ecologies, often intersecting with legal and human rights frameworks.

Research Interests: She explores authoritarianism, inequality, and the socio-political dynamics of marginalized communities, particularly in central India’s conflict zones like Bastar. Her scholarship integrates environmental justice and state-society relations.

Recent Publications: Highlights include the critically acclaimed The Burning Forest: India’s War in Bastar (2019) and co-edited volumes analyzing caste, civil wars, and social mobility.
