Nancye H. Dawers

Nancye H. Dawers is an Associate Professor at Tulane University's School of Science & Engineering. Her research focuses on fault evolution, tectonic geomorphology, and coastal subsidence processes across diverse regions including the Eastern California Shear Zone and Gulf Coast. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University (1997), an M.S. from University of Illinois (1987), and a B.S. from University of Kentucky (1984).

Dawers investigates brittle fault growth patterns, displacement accumulation, fault scaling relationships, and tectonic landscape development through stratigraphic and geomorphic analysis. Her Louisiana research examines salt-related faulting contributions to coastal land loss.

She teaches courses on structural geology, subsurface geology, and tectonic geomorphology. Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on fault mechanics, basin evolution, and landscape responses to tectonic forcing.
