Dr. Nancy Tamimi is a Senior Lecturer in Global Health & Social Medicine at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Global Affairs and the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine. Her academic journey includes a dental background, a master's in Dental Public Health, and a PhD in Medical Sociology. She teaches undergraduate courses in qualitative research methods, global health, and study abroad programs. Her research focuses on mental health equity, decolonizing education and research methods, and tobacco/e-cigarette studies. She leads initiatives on decolonizing higher education, including workshops, symposiums, and pilot courses, and supports mental health work in Palestine.
Her research groups include the Research Culture, Medicine & Power group and the Mental Health & Society research group. She contributes to the GHSM Anti Racism Steering Group and has organized events like the 'Decolonising the University Curriculum Symposium.' Her work addresses global health inequities and socio-political dimensions of mental health.
