Nancy Muro-Rodriguez

Nancy Muro-Rodriguez is a Research Fellow at the Yale School of Medicine, Yale University. Her work focuses on intersectional issues in mental health, cultural psychology, and systemic inequities impacting Latinx communities and Puerto Rican diasporas. She holds a PhD from the University of Georgia (Psychology), an MEd from the University of Missouri (Counseling Psychology), and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Psychology).

Her research explores colonial legacies' impact on identity and mental health, cultural adaptation in therapeutic practices, and barriers to higher education for marginalized groups. Key themes include decolonizing mental health frameworks, language equity in healthcare, and sociopolitical critiques of Puerto Rican governance.

Recent publications analyze culturally-adapted digital CBT for substance use disorders, coloniality of being among immigrants, and systemic barriers to Latinx educational attainment.
