Nancy L. Ford serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Biological & Medical Sciences at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Dentistry, where she supervises graduate research across Craniofacial Science, Experimental Medicine, and Medical Physics degree programs.
Her research integrates medical physics with advanced dental imaging techniques, focusing on micro-computed tomography, physiological gating, contrast agents, and models of respiratory disease. She investigates image-based measurements and x-ray applications to advance dental materials, equipment, and biotechnology diagnostics, addressing interdisciplinary challenges in oral-systemic health.
Dr. Ford actively mentors graduate students and seeks interdisciplinary collaborations through research clusters and grant initiatives, while also welcoming undergraduate research participation to foster innovation in dental and medical imaging technologies.
