Nan Jiang is a Professor of Second Language Acquisition at the University of Maryland's School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, and a member of the Maryland Language Science Center. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona (1998), with postdoctoral training at Penn State University. His research focuses on cognitive and psycholinguistic processes in adult second language acquisition, including bilingual language processing, lexical representation, and the interplay between language and thought. He is the author of influential books like The Study of Bilingual Language Processing (OUP, 2023) and Second Language Processing: An Introduction (Routledge, 2018).
