Najmeh Abiri serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology at Malmö University's Faculty of Technology and Society, specializing in Machine Learning research and instruction.
Her research spans Deep Learning, Generative Models, and Uncertainty Quantification, with methodological focus on data imputation for noisy or incomplete datasets. She actively bridges theoretical advances with real-world applications through interdisciplinary collaborations.
In partnership with the Swedish Veterinary Institute, she develops machine learning solutions for large-scale tick surveillance systems—including automated tick species classification, pathogen distribution modeling, and data quality control protocols—advancing public health monitoring through citizen science frameworks.
