Nahid Nasrat

Nahid Nasrat is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (College of Professional Psychology) since 2019. She holds a PsyD from Alliant International University (1999) and has over 20 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and conducting research related to diversity, refugee mental health, and peace psychology.

Her research focuses on the psycho-social implications of conflict and post-conflict settings, acculturative stress in immigrant/refugee populations, racial trauma, and transnational feminist approaches to mental health. She advocates for cultural competence in counseling and has explored the impact of global crises like the Afghan conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic on marginalized communities.

Recent presentations highlight her work on liberation psychology, social justice allyship, and community-driven mental health solutions. She has served as Past-President of the American Psychological Association, Division 48 (Peace Psychology), and leads initiatives like Afghan Education For A Better Tomorrow.
