Prof. Nadja Guenster holds the Professorship for Sustainable Finance at the University of Münster since 2022. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Economics and leads the Chair of Sustainable Finance, focusing on socially responsible investing and the impact of sustainability on corporate performance. Previously, she was a Professor of Finance at the same university since 2014, and held roles including Assistant Professor at Maastricht University (2007-2013) and Visiting Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley (2011-2016).
Her academic journey includes a PhD in Finance from Rotterdam School of Management (2003-2009), and a Master's in Economics from Maastricht University. She also undertook visiting studies at Ohio State University and Brandeis University.
Research focuses on sustainable finance mechanisms, investor behavior in ESG contexts, and empirical analysis of corporate sustainability practices. Current projects include analyzing investor willingness to pay for sustainable impact (2024-2025, funded by Stiftung für die Wissenschaft). She collaborates with research associates like Marcel Werner and Luca Comanici.
Teaching responsibilities include courses like 'Foundations of Sustainable Finance' and 'Socially Responsible Investing' across bachelor's and master's programs. She contributes to the Finance Center Münster's excellence programs like Finest in Finance.
