Nadja Dwenger is a full Professor of Economics at the University of Hohenheim, holding the Chair of Public Economics. She is an affiliated researcher at the Chr. Michelsen Institute Bergen and a CEPR affiliate and CESifo fellow. Her research focuses on the economic impact of government policy, with three main strands: tax enforcement and its distributional effects, the economics of public administration, and long-term effects of public policy on declining regions.
Her work often employs field experiments and policy analysis to address questions such as how to build administrative capacity and the effects of tax policies on compliance and equity. Notable publications include studies on tax shaming mechanisms, migrant integration, and corporate tax incidence.
She actively contributes to policy discussions through working papers like Building Capacity in the Public Administration (with A.
