Nadine S. Aguilera

Nadine S. Aguilera is a Professor of Pathology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she serves as Section Head of Hematopathology and Director of the Hematopathology Fellowship Program. Her work focuses on lymphoma and spleen pathology, with a particular emphasis on Castleman disease.

She has contributed to understanding genetic mutations like MYD88 L265P in lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma and the role of immunohistochemistry in B-cell and Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis.

Her work also addresses clinical challenges in post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders, acute promyelocytic leukemia treatment delays, and targeted therapies for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. She has authored chapters in Diagnostic Pathology: Spleen and Handbook of Practical Immunohistochemistry, covering topics such as hereditary spherocytosis, HIV-related spleen pathology, and lymph node immunohistochemistry.

Dr. Aguilera collaborates with the Department of Pathology at UVA Health, contributing to clinical services, research, and graduate education initiatives.
