Her research contributes to ongoing dialogues about sexual difference, figuration, and filiation within contemporary philosophical discourse.
Throughout her career, Hartmann has maintained strong connections with Berlin's academic institutions, particularly the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin), while also contributing to philosophical discourse at other major German universities. Her teaching spans multiple disciplines within the arts and humanities, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary media philosophy.
