Nada Lukkahatai is an Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) with a background in nursing, clinical practice, and biomedical research. She directs the MSN (Entry into Nursing) Research Honors Program and collaborates with the JHU Center for Cardiovascular & Chronic Care and the Center for Community Programs, Innovation, and Scholarship (COMPASS). Her work bridges clinical nursing with cutting-edge proteomics and genomics to address symptom clusters in chronic conditions.
Research Focus: Dr. Lukkahatai investigates the biological mechanisms underlying symptom clustering, such as fatigue, pain, and stress in chronic care and oncology. She employs proteomic and genomic techniques to identify biomarkers for non-pharmacological interventions, aiming to reduce symptom burden through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.
Scientific Contributions: Her publications span topics including fatigue in prostate cancer patients, genomic markers in fibromyalgia, and biological frameworks for symptom management. Key themes involve translating laboratory findings into clinical applications for chronic care, oncology, and palliative care.
