Nadège Bault is a Lecturer in Cognitive Neuroscience and Head of Operations at the Brain Research & Imaging Centre (BRIC) at the University of Plymouth. She holds a position within the School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Health. Her research focuses on neural mechanisms underlying decision making, social preferences, and reinforcement learning in social contexts.
Dr. Bault teaches advanced neuroscience modules including PSYC726 (Foundations and Applications of Neuroimaging), PSYC724 (Advanced Practice in Neuroimaging), and oversees the Neuroscience Research Project (PSYC725) for the MSc Human Neuroscience program. She also leads the BSc Psychology Research Project (PSYC605).
Her supervision record includes seven students across PhD and Master's levels, both as primary and co-supervisor. Notable completed projects include studies on impulsivity in addiction (Kenza Kadri, 2024), counterfactual comparison effects (Ben Timberlake, 2019), and social preferences in repeated interactions (Maximilian Hoyer, 2018).
Dr. Bault’s work integrates behavioral neuroscience with social cognition, emphasizing translational approaches to understand how neural systems mediate prosocial/competitive behaviors and value-based choices.
