N.K. Chidambaran is a Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Faculty Development at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business. He joined Fordham in 2008 after serving on the faculties of Rutgers University and Tulane University. His academic journey includes a BTech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a PhD in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.
His research focuses on corporate finance, corporate governance, and derivatives, with notable contributions to understanding IPO structures (e.g., SPACs), board governance mechanisms, executive compensation dynamics, and financial crisis analysis. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Risk and Insurance, and Journal of Derivatives.
Dr. Chidambaran has received the Best Paper Award at the 2015 India Finance Association Conference for his research on non-standard IPO designs. While no student advisees are listed, his teaching spans corporate finance, risk management, and governance. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges financial theory and practical applications in capital markets and institutional frameworks.
