Dr. N.E. Chisari is an Assistant Professor in Theoretical Physics at Utrecht University's Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITF), affiliated with the Faculty of Science. Her research focuses on cosmology, dark energy, and gravitational lensing, leveraging observational data from galaxy shape measurements. She holds a PhD in Astrophysics from Princeton University (2014) and postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Oxford, including the Royal Astronomical Society and Beecroft Fellowships. She actively contributes to major surveys like the Kilo-Degree Survey, Vera Rubin Observatory, and Euclid, serving as Deputy Analysis Coordinator for the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration.
Her work combines analytical, numerical, and observational approaches to study galaxy alignments and their interplay with cosmic structures. She leads a research group funded by an NWO Vidi grant and engages in public outreach via Astrobites and astrobitos.org, promoting science communication in English and Spanish. Teaching responsibilities include cosmology and extragalactic astrophysics courses at Utrecht, alongside developing practical lab modules for optics and waves.
