Mónica Russel y Rodríguez is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology and Latina and Latino Studies at Northwestern University's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. She also serves as the Associate Dean of Teaching-Track and Visiting Faculty in Weinberg College, focusing on non-tenure line faculty hiring, diversity initiatives, and curriculum analysis.
Education:
- B.A. in Anthropology, Yale University
- Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, University of California, Los Angeles
Her research explores gender, sexuality, race, and class dynamics within U.S. Latinx communities, with regional expertise in Los Angeles, Denver, rural New Mexico, and Chicago. She contributes to Chicana feminist theory and ethnographic methodologies while advocating for reproductive rights among underserved Latinas.
