Márton Hadarics is a Habil. Associate Professor at the Department of Social Psychology, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), where he also serves as Head of the TDK department. His research focuses on social inequality, intergroup relations, and the psychological mechanisms underlying prejudice and allyship. He leads the Social Groups and Media Research Lab/Workshop, exploring topics such as conspiracy theories, LGBTQ+ rights, and Roma inclusion.
His work integrates experimental and contextual approaches, examining how societal structures and media influence perceptions of justice, trust, and political attitudes. Notable areas include authoritarianism's impact on democratic quality perceptions, the palliative function of belief systems, and strategies to reduce anti-Gypsyism. His research bridges theoretical psychology with applied social issues, emphasizing real-world implications for social policy.
Publications span cross-national studies, meta-analyses, and psychometric tool development, reflecting his commitment to both empirical rigor and cultural specificity. His findings frequently highlight the role of moral frameworks in shaping intergroup behavior and political trust.
