Myungji Yang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. Previously affiliated with the Political Science Department at UH Mānoa (2013-2020), they have held visiting fellowships at USC Korean Studies Institute (2015-16), MaxPo (2019-20), and the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (2020-21). Their research focuses on political sociology, social inequality, and East Asia, emphasizing historical legacies and civil society's role in shaping political dynamics.
